Noor Al-Arabiyya Series

A series for teaching Arabic to non-native speaking children, consisting of six books representing six educational levels in accordance with the standards adopted by ACTFL for children.

The series is built upon linguistic, psychological, social, and cognitive foundations for presenting language skills and elements, as well as their exercises, to achieve broad and comprehensive communicative competence. It extends to include pragmatic and interactive competence through a variety of exercises. These exercises also aim to develop effective learning strategies that assist the learner in developing their competencies through self-reliance and autonomous learning, such as the lexical family (derivation) strategy, the strategy of guessing the meanings of new words from context, and interactive strategies for speaking and conversation skills.

The series places great emphasis on the concept of intensive exposure to compensate for the lack of children's exposure to the Arabic language outside the classroom. Therefore, it provides numerous and varied exercises and works on recycling vocabulary and structures while utilizing previous knowledge and experience.

It can be said that this series, with its exercises and additional elements, serves as a strong foundation for learners wishing to continue learning Arabic at advanced stages. It focuses on thematic diversity, enabling the learner to build a varied vocabulary across many fields of knowledge: mathematics, science, Islamic studies, the Quran, the environment, and various arts.

Graphic Design

The series was designed using the latest computer graphic design software and updates, based on the principles of graphic design, bridging scientific theories with sensory elements while focusing on various skill aspects that rely on experience and experimentation.

The design principles represent the aesthetic goal achieved, reflecting the aesthetic and functional purpose of designing the exercises and activities in the series, while ensuring they convey the intellectual or aesthetic message of the artistic work of the exercises.

These principles are: balance, contrast, unity, rhythm, proportion, emphasis, and alignment.

Images and Illustrations

Graphic designs and visual/illustrative images have been developed to define objectives and convey ideas to the student easily and clearly. Colors, images, text format, and layout system were chosen to suit the target age group of children.

Nasheeds (Chants)

The series contains a selection of purposeful Nasheeds. By teaching these, the teacher achieves many educational, moral, and linguistic goals, including:

Addressing shyness in students, as Nasheeds provide an opportunity to speak loudly with peers or individually.
Improving pronunciation and articulating letters clearly during chanting.
Serving as a source of joy for students, with a clear impact on renewing their energy.
Increasing student excitement, instilling enthusiasm in them, and strengthening their personalities.
Instilling noble qualities and high ideals in students, and imparting knowledge and concepts in an engaging and appealing manner.
