Arabic as a foreign language method for young adults on 4 levels. Its strengths: its clarity and rigor, its dynamism, its current themes and the tone of its texts. It is aimed at an audience of young adults, new to learning Arabic as a foreign language. It consists of: the Book of the student , the Activity Book , the Book of professor .
"Arabic for young people" seeks to develop an initial communicative competence in a foreign language. She is completely in Arabic and does not use an intermediate language.
The proposed approach is both communicative and pragmatic: we learn to communicate and we communicate something. It can be summarized as follows:
- The language used in the method is a functional language, presented in communication situations.
- From a communicative perspective, grammar is situational grammar, with its oral and written peculiarities. Grammar facts are always presented using small sketches, signs, mini-stories, etc., which are easily memorized and allow easy-to-access contextualization.
- Cultural content is an integral part of the subject to be taught.
- A spiral progression: We can easily see that the contents of this method are constantly rebranded in different files in the Student Book and the Exercise Book. The progression followed is indeed a progression which describes a learning spiral, taking up in various forms the previous achievements and the difficulties overcome, to integrate them and gradually enrich them. This way of progressing is applied to the lexicon and to the syntax, to the oral and to the written. We thus pass from the comprehension of mini-texts to short texts, then to medium texts, without excessively increasing the difficulty of the speech. At the start, the pupil is asked for a minimal expression, which can be reduced to a simple gesture, to gradually arrive at making him construct more complex sentences.
